DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) – Interstate 85 is closed at mile marker 55 because of a vehicle accident. Pop star Miley Cyrus’ tour bus overturned, killing the driver.
Cyrus was not on board the bus at the time of the crash. There were 15 passengers on the bus. One person with minor injuries was taken to Southside Regional Hospital in Petersburg.
Highway crews are working to clear the area as soon as possible. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area. Only the shoulder will be open southbound.
According Cyrus’ website, the tour is scheduled to perform in Greensboro, N.C., on Sunday.
